Weight Watchers

Before I had Emma I joined Weight Watchers (WW) several times. Each time I would do well and then welllll.... it all came back somehow. My 29th birthday was Saturday and I made a commitment to myself on that day - 30 by 30 - 30 pounds by the time I reach 30 years old. Now this goal is totally attainable and I'm hoping to achieve a lot more than that, but I figure I'd set it where I can actually reach it. In fact this time around I am going to try and reward myself in 5 pound increments. In fact, the first 5 pound reward will be a new toe nail paint job. If you read in my previous post, I still have my hideous toes, and everytime I want to go off program I'll just look at my toes and think 5 pound reward... We'll see how I do and I'll continue to blog about it every now and again. Wish me luck!!!

Attack of the drooling baby...

Emma has been drooling and eating on her hands like crazy. I don't know if she's cutting teeth or just preparing or just drooling for the hell of it, but she is drooling and eating her hands. So last night Greg decided to give her the toy cow he bought for her. Once she figured she could eat his tail she was happy as can be. Poor cow will never be the same...

Today while doing laundry, I put her in the clothes basket to carry her from the laundry/bathroom to the sofa. She really enjoyed the ride and laying on the warm blanket. I gave her one of her dolls to play with in the basket, and she proceeded to attack the poor baby doll. She enjoyed every minute of playing with the baby doll.
It's so much fun to see her grabbing and holding on to things. She's growing and doing more each and every day!

What was I thinking...

Well Monday my in-laws watched Emma so that I could finish up some things I'd been working on at the school board office. Afterwards I decided to go get my toes painted as a little reward. My birthday is Saturday and we also have a company picnic that day and I am invited to a baby shower, so my toes needed a little painting (it's so nice to let someone else do it). I wanted something summery for my toes, but for some reason decided to paint them hot pink. I liked the color on other people I've seen wearing it, and I liked it when I chose the color, but now.... Here is the color on my toes, what was I thinking....
Now I am going to have to go get them redone b/c everytime I look at my toes, I can't help but feel so yucky! The color is just not me. Hopefully I can get them done before Saturday! Next time I'm sticking with the normal colors and not trying to be like everyone else!

The curtains are up....

I have been a total slacker when it's come to Emma's room. My original plan for her room was to use this quilt because of course I was convinced she was going to be a boy. My mom made black and white checked curtains to go with the quilt too because she too was convinced I was having a boy.

But Emma was indeed a girl and the quilt became more of a "boy" quilt with each passing day. Thus began my dilemma... I've thought and thought about what I wanted to do her room in and not spend a ton of money or have to paint it (it's yellow now). I finally found fabric on e-bay for $3.99 a yard and fell in love with it. Now my mom has finished her curtains and I am in love with them! I also replaced the green drawers in her cubby with pink ones. My mom also made the labels hanging on the drawers. Now her room is coming together.

I have a few more projects that I want to do in the next few weeks to make her room totally hers. I'll keep the pictures coming. In the meantime, I'm using the original quilt as a place for Emma to play. Thanks Mom for being such a great seamstress and for all of your help on a daily basis!!
